A Legacy Across Three Generations (1976 – 2024)

Year 1976: The Dream Begins

A small dream took shape in the bustling lanes of Lohia Market, Fancy Bazar when Nirmal Kumar Jain founded Neelkamal. He began with wholesaling curtain and sofa fabrics across the Northeast, pouring his heart and soul into the business. His vision was simple yet bold – to create something truly enduring.

Year 1995: A Turning Point

Anurag Jain, Nirmal Kumar’s son, was successfully running a blanket manufacturing business in Panipat. But life took an unexpected turn after the sudden demise of his mother, and he had to move back to Guwahati to support his father. Pooling their expertise they started the distributorship of Sheela Foam (parent company of Sleepwell & Kurlon), strengthening the foundation of Neelkamal.

Year 2006: Neelkamal’s Growing Network

As the business grew, Nirmal Kumar Jain expanded Neelkamal by building a strong network with traders across the 7 states of the Northeast. His efforts took the business to new heights, with no looking back.

Year 2010-2013: A Rise to Industry Leaderships

Neelkamal’s dedication earned national recognition, becoming the 2nd runner-up for Best Distributor in 2010 and 1st runner-up in 2013, solidifying its leadership in the industry. Over the years, Neelkamal received several prestigious accolades.

Year 2017: A New Generation

The legacy continued with Rohit Jain, Anurag’s son, joining the family business. He brought fresh ideas and modern strategies, expanding Neelkamal’s product lines and started the distributorship of Responsive. With innovative offerings, he ensured the business stayed ahead of the curve for today’s customers.

Year 2024: Aakara Homes, The Future of Luxury Begins

Rohit, with the unwavering support of his grandfather and father has launched Aakara Homes – a luxury showroom offering premium home products like upholstery, curtains, and rugs. This new chapter in the Neelkamal legacy sets the stage for a promising future.
